Comments about Merit Fitness Merit Fitness 725T Plus Treadmill:

Overall a great treadmill for the money. Not too bad to set up though you really DO want to move it in the box and then take it out. I made the mistake of opening the box downstairs and it was much harder to move in the pieces! The box is heavy, but trust me and move it before you open it up. It is a little noisy but not too bad. Easy controls to use, folds up quickly and easily. I'm doing walking and light jogging 3x per week and so far have few complaints.

Comments about Merit Fitness Merit Fitness 725T Plus Treadmill:

I had several back surgeries and was told that walking was the best for me. Instead of wasting money on a gym membership that I couldn't use I decided to purchase a this treadmill. I researched many different types and styles and decided this was the most bang for my buck. I am really impressed at how easy it was to install. [...] Customer service was amazing I had the parts and a tech here to fix the machine in less than a week! I love how quite the machine is. This machine is truly great on many levels. My mom uses the machine for more endurance and running and she has no complaints. The only con that I have right now is that its hard to store and or move when its folded. Other than that its a great buy!

After long research of treadmills and treadclimbers, this treadmill works great. I am not an exercise craze person. I needed to walk for health reasons. Being as cold outside as it has been, I researched and found this treadmill to do what it says it does. It's comfortable, easy to use, and I actually look forward to walking.

Service & Delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt, however, some pieces were damaged. Customer service was prompt and concerned with my needs. They had a fitness rep come out and assemble the part that was damaged for me. Very good machine for the low price. We have it set in front of the TV so that we can watch television while we do our running. Have to turn the TV way up to hear it. After a week, everything seems to be working fairly well. When reducing speed, the machine reacts very quickly. It goes from level 6 (slow run) to stop in a matter of a few seconds. Almost too quick. Very short cord for the plug.

Comments about Merit Fitness Merit Fitness 725T Plus Treadmill:

I use this product at night so it is essential that the treadmill is quiet while my children are sleeping. Great job! Soft walking base is less taxing on my feet and allows me to exercise longer. What would make this a perfect product would be make the cupholders more upright, extend the base another 4 inches, place wheels in the front for easy maneuverability, and add an ipod docking station in the console. Nonetheless this is a very solid peice of exercise equipment and highly recommendable. You will not find a better treadmill for the price.

Comments about Merit Fitness Merit Fitness 725T Plus Treadmill:

If you're someone that likes to workout and stay in shape, this treadmill is perfect for you. I love the convenience of being able to exercise in the comfort of my own home. It saves me time and money, and I no longer have to run outside in the freezing cold. I have only been able to use it a couple of times, but so far I am very pleased. It is sturdy, easy to use, and, although it's smaller than a treadmill that you would find in a professional gym, the performance is great. My wife and I set it up in less than an hour and, contrary to some of the stories I read in other reviews, lubricating the mat and adjusting the tension was not all that bad (You just need to be careful and remember how many turns you do for each screw). At worst it should take a little patience and adjusting. In the end I did a 20-minute jog on it the same day it arrived[...]

Sales ad overstates what is part of the product no matter where you buy it. Setup took about 3 hours. Instructions for the lubrication is confusing, referencing parts that are not identified in the manual. Operations is great, looks good and sturdy. Just have to get past the setup.

Comments about Merit Fitness Merit Fitness 725T Plus Treadmill:

Although assembling the Merit Fitness was somewhat difficult, I am now enjoying its benefits. I have paired it with a 19-inch TV, so that I can watch my favorite TV shows while I am working out. Before I know it, 55-60 minutes have passed. I have not yet explored the other specific programs it offers, but plan to do so. Right now it is great just to be losing weight.
The on/off button is a little inconvenient, but I can work with that.

Comments about Merit Fitness Merit Fitness 725T Plus Treadmill:

The treadmill was relatively easy to put together. It took my husband about an hour to put it together with relatively little help from me. I just read the instructions from the laptop screen. The box was missing the instructions so I went online and was able to get the manual. I noticed there was a quality control slip in the packaging, so I was surprised that the instructions on how to put it together was missing. What impressed me with the treadmill for the price were the controls. They are not cheap LCD displays but actually resemble those at the gym. I originally went to [...] to purchase an inexpensive but decent treadmill but at the price I was looking to spend I was not impressed with the design or quality. This treadmill has great incline and speed and it is very sturdy. Not flimsy at all and the running deck is a good size as well. The deck has cushion underneath so it prevents it from being noisy when running. I particularly like that it has different programs for weight loss, cardio blast, fat burn, etc.. and you can choose from 15 minutes to 55 minutes. Not sure why it does not have 60 minutes but that is not a issue at all. the one drawback is the when you pull the deck up for storage it still sticks out some and does not stand straight up. This is a problem if you have limited space as you will not be able to lay it down and store it underneath anything.Overall I would recommend this to anyone looking to purchase a good treadmill at a good price for everyday home use. I purchased mine during a sale month and also had a coupon code. [...].Most people purchase treadmills and use them for a while then stop. Why spend $700 or more if your not an avid runner or someone who works out everyday at home.

Service & Delivery comments:

I was called to set-up a delivery date. Unfortunately they only delivered two weekdays out of the week in my area (not FedEx). They came on the date agreed upon and during the time frame specified. I will not complain about the limited delivery dates since the treadmill was about 150lbs and I did not have to pay shipping and handling. The guy brought the treadmill in and left it where instructed. No problems at all.

Comments about Merit Fitness Merit Fitness 725T Plus Treadmill:

You definitely need 2 people to set up this treadmill. It's quite easy but the materials are a bit heavy. The hardest part actually was figuring out how to apply the silicone gel underneath the belt. The treadmill apparently comes 'perfectly' tensioned but they make you loosen the belt tension so you can lubricate it and it's up to you to adjust the tension. Oh well. Other than that the treadmill runs perfectly. It's a bit noisy on speeds higher than 2 miles an hour but it's sturdy, the heart monitor works great. I'm very very happy with this purchase.

[...]The easy 4 step assembly instructions were very encouraging, with a different bag of hardware for each step. If you wait until all bolts are threaded before completely tightening (like the instructions clearly state several times) you should have no problem. This is a very sturdy design with all of the features of a treadmill in a professional gym. Overall I am extremely pleased and have nothing bad to say about my new Merit 725!!

This is a great product for the cost. All of the reviews that state the screws dont fit into the holes do not follow instructions properly. If you tighten any screw before all are placed - they wont fit - but follow the directions and place them all before tightening - then they fit...magic! A little noisy but a great piece of equipment.

My 60 year old husband can hike to his hearts content with the rolling hills progam. I'mm 55 and recently went through menapause and thoroughly enjoy the weight loss and fat blast progams to keep those extra pounds off. My 32 year old son is at his deks all day and loves the ability to stretch his legs and regain his aerobic stamina, especially with an active 8 month old. My 26 year old daughter just plain loves it the cardio and leg toning that this treadmill provides. I would never buy a different model again!

The leg of the treadmill was damaged where the leg extension goes...took me almost an hour to fix. The company did offer to take the machine back and replace it but no way was I gonna pack it all up again....plus the box was falling apart when I received it. Be careful if the extended warranty. I got a 4 year extended. They use a company that really don't know very much....it took me almost 2 hours of phone calls to make sure I was covered for the 4 years.

Overall....the machine works good and I would recommend it to anyone.

Comments about Merit Fitness Merit Fitness 725T Plus Treadmill:

Once the treadmill was set up it was fantastic! The problem was inserting the screws during set up. They did not catch properly. It was decided that the manufacturer did not change their tooling properly and it was worn out. Some screws worked, some didn't, so our treadmill may not be as sturdy as it is supposed to be.

Other than that, the treadmill works very well and has many different programs to fit your needs, from fat loss to endurance training. I would recommend this to someone who wants a home treadmill at a reasonable price.
